Work Update

Hello everyone,

I've been immersing myself in a significant project lately, working diligently to assess the accessibility of Salvatore’s Old Fashioned Pizzeria locations. So far, we've visited 13 locations and, unfortunately, encountered numerous accessibility issues at each. My team and I have been meticulously documenting these challenges through photographs and detailed notes. The goal is to develop tailored solutions for each site to ensure better accessibility.

In tandem with this practical work, I continue to deepen my understanding of ADA standards and accessibility codes. This knowledge is crucial for my role at the Regional Center for Independent Living (RCIL), where I've been working since September 11, 2023 – that marks 91 days today!

My commitment to this role is long-term. I envision making Rochester, New York, a more inclusive and safe space for the disability community, starting with Salvatore's. This is a considerable challenge, but I'm ready for it. With enough support and dedication, we can make a significant impact.

Another exciting aspect of my journey is the potential for a pay raise, contingent on my mastery of technical knowledge in my field. I eagerly anticipate this milestone.

Lastly, I hope my journey inspires other individuals with disabilities to pursue employment if they desire. With the right services and support, there are no limits to what we can achieve. Remember, no matter how significant the disability, there's always a path forward.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement.

Best,

Jensen Caraballo
