What I Believe

The motto: "Nothing about us without us" is a motto I live by. It means Disabled People must be involved in conversations about access and disability. When nondisabled people make decisions about Disabled People without Disability input, the decision is usually negative. It's a decision that is usually harmful, violent, or coercive. It makes it hard for us to move forward. Decisions about Disability need to be made with the input of the Disability Community. We can create policies that improves our lives, and teach people how to understanding and supportive of the Disability Community.
