About Me:

Living independently in my own apartment has always been important to me, despite the challenges posed by my condition. Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2 limits my mobility, making it essential for me to have assistance with various daily tasks. That's where a compassionate home care worker comes in.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

As a home care worker, you'll play a vital role in my life, assisting me every Sunday from 7am to 3pm, for an 8-hour shift. The responsibilities include:

1. Assisting with Mobility: Given my condition, I rely on a wheelchair for mobility. Your strength and ability to lift up to 105 pounds will be crucial in helping me transition into and out of my wheelchair comfortably and safely.

2. Personal Care: I'll need your help with bathing, getting dressed, and preparing for the day ahead. Your support in these tasks will greatly contribute to my comfort and well-being.

3. Meal Preparation: Your assistance with meal planning and preparation will be highly appreciated.

4. Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and organized living space is important to me. Help with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and general cleaning, will contribute to a comfortable and enjoyable environment.

Qualities I'm Seeking:

When looking for a home care worker, there are several qualities I find important:

1. Empathy and Compassion: Above all, I seek someone who genuinely cares about my well-being. Compassion and empathy are the foundation of our relationship.

2. Physical Strength: Given the lifting involved in my care, it is crucial that you have the physical strength to meet the demands of the job.

3. Attention to Detail: Understanding my specific needs, preferences, and routines is essential for providing personalized care that enhances my quality of life.

4. Reliable Transportation: Having reliable transportation is important to ensure your punctuality and consistent presence during our scheduled shifts.

5. 420 Friendly: It is important for me to find someone who is comfortable and supportive of my use of medical cannabis as part of my treatment plan.

How to Apply:

If you feel that you possess the necessary qualities and skills to be my home care worker, I would love to hear from you! Please reach out to me at and provide your resume, a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience, and your availability for an interview.

Finding the right home care worker can make a significant difference in my life. By joining my support team, you'll have the opportunity to provide the care and assistance that allows me to live independently and enjoy a fulfilling life. If you think you have what it takes, please don't hesitate to contact me. Together, we can create a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes well-being and independence.

Warm regards,

Jensen Caraballo
