For those of you that don't know me, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jensen Caraballo. I am a 33 year old disabled person of color with a neuromuscular disability called Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2. I am a full time wheelchair user, writer, blogger, and advocate. I am going to share my resume with you so you can have a better idea on what type of work I'm looking for.

  • Wrote and published several blogs about ABLE accounts, people with disabilities, assistive technology, and various other subjects

  • Did some outreach to at least 30 contacts about the services and support provided by the National Disability Institute

9/19 - 12/20

IL Peer Mentor | Center for Disability Rights | Rochester, NY

  • Ensuring individuals with disabilities who wish to leave nursing homes or remain independent in the community have the necessary support to do so

  • Providing support by sharing personal experiences of community living

  • Identifying and providing information on barriers that impede community living and suggesting next steps in resolving them
