Welcome to my blog! I'm Jensen Caraballo, a passionate disabled person of color hailing from Rochester, New York. At the age of 33, I navigate the world as a full-time wheelchair user, writer, blogger, and advocate. My life's journey has led me to become an influential voice in the realms of Disability Rights and Disability Justice.

Living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2, I understand firsthand the unique challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. My personal experiences, combined with a burning desire for change, have fueled my advocacy work. I strive to empower and uplift the voices of disabled individuals, amplifying their needs, concerns, and aspirations to create a more inclusive and equitable society.

My advocacy journey began at a young age when circumstances forced me to reside in a nursing home at just 15 years old. This experience ignited a fire within me to fight for community-based services and support. I firmly believe that every person deserves the right to live independently and access the resources necessary to thrive in their own communities.

As the owner and creator of this blog, I aim to provide a platform for open dialogue, education, and inspiration. Here, I share my personal insights, reflections, and stories, shedding light on the lived experiences of disabled individuals. I strive to challenge ableism, break down barriers, and promote empathy and understanding.

Born on June 7, 1990, in Guayama, Puerto Rico, I carry with me the vibrant spirit and rich cultural heritage of my birthplace. While my physical condition may limit my mobility, it has never limited my capacity to dream, create, and make a difference in the world.

For over a decade, I have embraced independent living, defying societal expectations and proving that disability does not define a person's worth. Through my blog, I hope to inspire others to embrace their own unique journeys, celebrate their identities, and advocate for a more inclusive and accessible world.
